Jodie Sweetin celebrates Pride Month on Instagram

Hallmark actress Jodie Sweetin recently starred in a new mystery series, The Jane Mysteries. Meanwhile, she posted an image of herself and a bunch of friends at a Pride festival with the simple caption, #HappyPride. However, some of her 2.5 million followers did not react well. Among the comments, fans criticized Sweetin for glorifying the LGBTQ+ community, with one writing, “If you want to normalize this, why glorify it?”

Meanwhile, another noted, “The rainbow belongs to God. Not homosexuality,” while another commented, writing, “Really shouldn’t take pride in what God calls a sin.” Moreover, others accused the Hallmark star of trying to “stay relevant,” writing, “You’re the new Kathy Griffin trying anything to stay relevant.

Another fan commented, writing, “Making sure to virtue signal, let everyone know you’re bowing to the leftist cult.”

Positive feedback on Pride Month post

However, some of Sweetin’s friends appreciated her post, with one writing, “Happy #Pride Jodie!! Thank you for being such a badass ally!!” Another wrote, “I mean I can respect these people who are gay but it doesn’t mean I have to agree what [sic] they chose to become. On another note, gays are truly sweet, respectful and great to be around with.”

Jodie and the former Hallmark star Candace Cameron Bure played on-screen sisters in Full House and its sequel, Fuller House. While they starred in a total of 13 seasons, they clearly fall on different sides of the spectrum relating to the LGBTQ+ community.

Readers will recall that Bure was slammed for her interview with The Wall Street Journal about moving over to Great American Family. She said that her new network puts faith and “traditional marriage” first. To be exact, she said:

We’re really here to spread joy and to spread love and happy, good feelings. I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.

One fan wrote, “You should take your on-screen sister to 1 of these so she can see they are just regular people living life & loving like the rest of us. @jodiesweetin & @candacecbure.

Meanwhile, another wrote, “Candace is currently writing up a post on how she “loves everyone no matter what” while projecting her religion onto others.”

However, on her first video post relating to Pride Month, Sweetin turned off the comments as she was “not about to let any trolls dim my MF shine.”

Moreover, her caption on that post read:

May you be free, May you be love of EVERY kind, and may you remember that you are a f***ing gorgeous, unique and DIVINE badass who can do ANYTHING!
