Mahogany: Spring Breakthrough on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
Hallmark has announced a new, original Mahogany movie, titled Spring Breakthrough. Set to premiere on Hallmark Movie & Mysteries, the film stars Keesha Sharp, Demetrius Grosse, Rhyon Nicole Brown and Akono Dixon.
According to the official synopsis for the movie, Monica Rollins (Keesha Sharp) is a single mom, excitedly waiting for her daughter, Vivian (Rhyon Nicole Brown) to return home for spring break, as is their annual tradition. However, just days before, Monica gets unceremoniously fired. To make matters even worse, Monica receives a second blow when Vivian announces her surprise engagement to Shawn (Akono Dixon), someone Monica didn’t know existed.

Meanwhile, Monica travels to the Gulf Shores to attend the engagement celebration. However, she is secretly planning to put an end to it because she believes Vivian is too young to marry. However, on route, she meets Clark Randall (Demetrius Grosse) at the airport, who also happens to be Shawn’s godfather. This leads to an unexpected flirtation. However, Clark and Monica spar over what she perceives to be his juvenile attitude, but as they learn more about each other, Monica has a change of heart and might just find herself ready to open up to love again.

Keesha Sharp, who plays Monica Rollins, has previously starred in Lethal Weapon and Girlfriends. Meanwhile, her newfound love, Clark, is played by Demetrius Grosse who has previously appeared in Lovecraft Country and Rampage. Rhyon Nicole Brown, who plays Vivian, has been seen in Empire and Our Kind of Love, while Akono Dixon, who plays Shawn, has starred in Euphoria and All American.
