One passionate Hallmark fan shared their frustration, stating that the plot “just rubs me the wrong way.” In the meantime, there are those who are pondering the potential implications of creating a film of this nature on the media company’s future. According to a Redditor, “Four years ago, Hallmark would have never ventured into producing a movie like this.”

On the other end of the spectrum many people commended the filmmakers for delving into the uncharted territory of IVF with great sensitivity and understanding. “What I truly admire about Hallmark movies is their ability to stay current,” one viewer expressed.

But Branching Out is more than a movie about IVF, according to Drew who told Southern Living the film intends to capture the emotional complexity of motherhood.  “I want people to feel like it really is a love letter to motherhood and single moms and families that come in all shapes and sizes.“
