Hallmark News: Nikki Deloach Will Be Taking The Reins For Fall Harvest

Hallmark Channel: Nikki Deloach Right now, Summer Nights are in full swing on the Hallmark Channel, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look ahead to the fall. Hallmark fan favorite actress, Nikki Deloach, is set to star in a new Hallmark movie during the Fall Harvest lineup. Titled Taking the Reins, most of the film was shot on location at Meadowbrook Farm in Connecticut and is set to premiere on September 25.

Fan-favorite Hallmark actress Nikki Deloach has been filming a new movie for the Fall Harvest lineup. Taking the Reins was filmed around 75 percent on Meadowbrook Farm in Connecticut. The Hartford Courant spoke to the owners of the horse farm, Renee Depuis and her husband, Ed Bennet III about the film.

Renee said of her encounters with Deloach and the other cast members that “they couldn’t have been more lovely people.” Reportedly, Depuis’ horses will not feature in the movie, as stunt horses were brought in. However, the real sign outside the horse farm will be shown. Apparently, the filmmakers had to ask Renee’s permission to use the name Meadowbrook Farm in the movie.

Speaking of her farm, Depuis said she doesn’t want to sound like she is boasting, but they do have a “really beautiful farm. “My husband works really hard to keep it looking beautiful. It’s just very picturesque,” she added.

Hallmark fans will remember Nikki for films such as Cranberry Christmas and Sweet Autumn. In Taking the Reins, she will star alongside Scott Porter, who recently appeared in the Netflix series Ginny and Georgia. The film will be Scott’s Hallmark debut. The parents in the film will be played by Corbin Bernsen and Janine Turner.

Nikki posted on Instagram to share a still from the film, writing, “Something beautiful is being filmed and I’m so grateful to be a part of it. #Hallmark.”

Meanwhile, it turns out Scott had a visit from his family during his time on location in Connecticut. He shared some lovely family images taken on the farm. He captioned the images, “If you’re gonna [sic] work a 13-hour day in 90* heat on your birthday I strongly suggest a lovely breakfast with your wife and kids to start before heading to a beautiful place with gorgeous animals and incredible people to work with.”

Hallmark Channel News – More About Taking The Reins

The movie is directed by actor/writer/director Claire Neiderpreum, who has previously directed seven other Hallmark Channel movies, including Her Pen Pal and Holiday for Heroes.

Obviously, with Taking the Reins being set in the fall, it needs some colorful fall scenery. Andrew Gernhard of Synthetic Cinema International, the production company for the film, told the Courant that leaves will be digitally recolored for the movie, as it was filmed during July.

With fall colors, gorgeous horses and a great cast, Taking the Reins is just what we need for the upcoming Fall Harvest. As a reminder, the movie will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on September 25.
