Hallmark Channel News – Nikki Deloach In New Hallmark Movie Taking The Reins
Fan-favorite Hallmark actress Nikki Deloach has been filming a new movie for the Fall Harvest lineup. Taking the Reins was filmed around 75 percent on Meadowbrook Farm in Connecticut. The Hartford Courant spoke to the owners of the horse farm, Renee Depuis and her husband, Ed Bennet III about the film.
Renee said of her encounters with Deloach and the other cast members that “they couldn’t have been more lovely people.” Reportedly, Depuis’ horses will not feature in the movie, as stunt horses were brought in. However, the real sign outside the horse farm will be shown. Apparently, the filmmakers had to ask Renee’s permission to use the name Meadowbrook Farm in the movie.
Speaking of her farm, Depuis said she doesn’t want to sound like she is boasting, but they do have a “really beautiful farm. “My husband works really hard to keep it looking beautiful. It’s just very picturesque,” she added.
Hallmark Channel News – About The cast
Hallmark fans will remember Nikki for films such as Cranberry Christmas and Sweet Autumn. In Taking the Reins, she will star alongside Scott Porter, who recently appeared in the Netflix series Ginny and Georgia. The film will be Scott’s Hallmark debut. The parents in the film will be played by Corbin Bernsen and Janine Turner.
Nikki posted on Instagram to share a still from the film, writing, “Something beautiful is being filmed and I’m so grateful to be a part of it. #Hallmark.”
Meanwhile, it turns out Scott had a visit from his family during his time on location in Connecticut. He shared some lovely family images taken on the farm. He captioned the images, “If you’re gonna [sic] work a 13-hour day in 90* heat on your birthday I strongly suggest a lovely breakfast with your wife and kids to start before heading to a beautiful place with gorgeous animals and incredible people to work with.”
