Hallmark Channel News – Renews TV Show

According to ET Online, the family-friendly feel-good network has finally renewed Chesapeake Shores. Season 5 will have 10 episodes and is expected to air in its usual time slot on Sunday nights. As for production, filming is scheduled to resume in 2021. However, that could change depending on a variety of factors.

About Chesapeake Shores

The show centers around Abby O’Brien (Meghan Ory), a divorced mother with a turbo-charged career. She relocates back to her hometown of Chesapeake Shores and rekindles a romance with her high school sweetheart, Trace Riley (Jesse Metcalfe). It also features three generations of O’Briens. The relationships are complicated at times and they face challenges. But love and hope take center stage as they navigate life, love, career, and family together.

In the season 4 finale, Trace and Abby appeared to be back together after they spent some time exploring other love interests.

Hallmark Channel Updates – Invested ‘Chessies’ and Grounded Stories

Chesapeake Shores fans are affectionately called “Chessies” and Metcalfe understands just how invested viewers are in stories.

Last August, the actor discussed the popularity of the series. When asked why he thought people were drawn to the show, he explained that they tell very real, grounded stories. It’s about real-life where nothing is perfect. There are highs, lows, and everything in between. While some people prefer to watch Utopian fairy tales, Chesapeake Shores bases their stories on imperfection, flaws, and reality — if something is meant to be, then it will be.
