Hallmark Seems Unworried About Actors Heading For GAC Family

Former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbot started up the GAC Family TV service. These days, it seems that actors flee from Hallmark to work under their old boss almost daily. With the Christmas Movie season approaching, it becomes clear to viewers that some of the best talent might move on. But the famous entertainment channel seems unworried.

Feel-good movies during the festive season have always been super-popular. But when folks like Candace Cameron Bure take their exit, it becomes worrisome for fans. Recall, that she was known for her roles in the annual movies. Mind you, recent news is more about her feud with JoJo Siwa, from Dance Moms. That came after the dancer posted up a TikTok that upset the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries actress.

Hallmark fans already heard that Danica McKellar also left for GAC Family TV. But, it seems that not all of their famous faces leave for greener pastures. This week, the news arrived that Lacey Chabert is about to start filming for a Christmas Movie. Whilst she didn’t tell her followers on Instagram what the movie is called, she seems super excited. 

Hallmark Channel News – Movies Is In Trouble With Lost Stars?

Jen Lilley left, as did Trevor Donovan. Recall, Trevor was an old face from the Movies & Mysteries shows. Then.  Jessica Lowndes, known for Christmas at Pemberley Manor, also headed for the exit door. And, off she went to produce and act in movies for GAC Family. So, is the production team getting a bit nervous about the losses? Well, according to Variety, it’s not a problem. 

The outlet noted that “During Wednesday’s Television Critics Association press conference, President and CEO Wonya Lucas and EVP of programming Lisa Hamilton Daly discussed the changes happening at [Hallmark.]” Notably, they also covered the loss of actors to GAC TV. And, it seems that their departure isn’t rattling them too much. 

Hallmark Channel News – No Loss – Sorry Not Sorry?

The Hallmark EVP of programming seemed to diss those actors who headed for the highway. Daly was quoted as saying, “We have, I think, retained almost everybody that we’re really excited to have. So that’s where we are.”

Additionally, the general feeling seems to be that there’s a large pool of new upcoming talent. So, while older faces move on, newcomers seem ready to fill some big shoes. Before fans start panicking, the message from the company seems to be, to relax and wait and see. After all, the franchise has established a rep across the world for great quality content.
