Hallmark Star Lacey Chabert Hopes To Make A Movie In Her Mississippi Hometown

Often dubbed Hallmark’s Christmas Queen, Lacey Chabert has starred in many feel-good movies for the network. However, the Mean Girls star has a dream to make a Hallmark movie about her hometown in Mississippi. Now she is also a producer for the channel she might just get the chance to do so.
Hallmark’s Lacey Chabert wants to make a movie about her hometown
Hallmark Channel and Mean Girls star, Lacey Chabert, hails from the small Southern town of Purvis, Mississippi. Moreover, the actress starred in the TV sitcom, Party of Five, where she played Gretchen Wieners. Meanwhile, the actress that has starred in the iconic The Wedding Veil movies has the wish to make a Hallmark movie about her hometown.
In a recent interview with Vulture, Chabert said that being an actress and producer for the feel-good channel has brought her creative vision to life. She said that she is ready to bring a film crew down south to her hometown, saying:
I’m from Purvis, Mississippi, and it’s a small town. I think about how everyone in that town supported me when I was a kid when my family moved to New York and I started in the business. It’s been a longtime dream of mine to tell a real southern story where we have accents and everything.
Mississippi and Hallmark feel-good movies
It turns out this wouldn’t be the first time a TV movie has featured the Magnolia State. In fact, Christmas in Mississippi was filmed in Gulfport and featured the Holiday Lights Show at Jones Park.
Moreover, Lacey, 40, who signed a two-year deal with Hallmark in February 2022, also spoke about her previous career. Sun Herald quotes her as saying that if a new Mean Girls was ever produced, she would love to reprise her breakout role as Wieners.
The Wedding Veil continues on Hallmark Channel
Among her most recent movies, Chabert has starred in The Wedding Veil trilogy of Hallmark movies. Recently, she broke the news that another trilogy of the movie series is in the making. Fans will recall that the plot revolved around longtime friends who find a mysterious, antique veil, said to unite its bearer with her true love. Lacey plays Avery Morrison in the trilogy, along with Autumn Reeser as Emma Lowell and Alison Sweeney as Tracey Goodwyn. Moreover, Kevin McGarry starred as Peter Hastings.
Meanwhile, the first of the three new movies bears the title, The Wedding Veil Expectations. While the network hasn’t released too many details, Hallmark Media recently revealed the first photos from the movie. Moreover, IMDb reveals the premiere date as January 7, 2023.
