Hallmark actresses ranging from Jill Wagner to Lacey Chabert have become fan favorites. And many of these popular stars have opened up about their favorite aspects of starring in Hallmark movies.
But Jill and Lacey also shared what goes into their Hallmark movie script selection process. Keep reading to learn what they revealed.
Jill Wagner – Stars In Hallmark Films For Grandma
North Carolina native Jill Wagner has become a Hallmark fan fave. For instance, Jill starred in Pearl in Paradise, Hearts of Winter, Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses, and many Mystery 101 films, according to Woman’s World.
And she shared that her grandmother motivated her to become a Hallmark movie star. But then her grandmother actually become the one to help her choose the right Hallmark script. “At first, the reason I started these movies is because my grandmother wanted me to do one. I called my manager, he sent me two scripts and I printed them out and sent them to her,” recalled Jill.
And the actress’ grandmother read the scripts and even advised Wagner on the best choice. “She read them, then calls me and tells me which one to do. That made her so happy,” shared Jill. “And I was like this is why I do what I do and if I can make my grandmother happy, that is amazing.”
Lacey Chabert -Looks For Two Factors In Hallmark Films
Before becoming a Hallmark star, Lacey Chabert became known for her role in Mean Girls. And she also portrayed Claudia Salinger in the TV show Party Of Five. But since joining the Hallmark family, Lacey has starred in more than 20 films on the channel.
And Chabert shared that she looks for two factors in choosing her scripts. “I always look for the sentimental or nostalgic part of things. That rings true in all of these movies, whether it be a mystery or a Christmas one or a romantic comedy or even more dramatic. I’m the kind of person who wants to sit down and watch something that makes me feel good,” she revealed.
But Lacey admitted that before becoming a mom, she “used to watch those Friday-night ‘ripped from the headlines’-type shows. I can’t watch that stuff now that I’m a parent,” she added.
Lacey Chabert – Listens To Her Fans
And now the actress seeks “something that’s uplifting or funny or moving. When I have interactions with fans, they say the same thing. You can sit down and watch something that’s going to leave you feeling good.” Watch for Chabert in A Merry Scottish Christmas, debuting November 18 at 8/7c, as well as Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up on November 25.
And just like Lacey and Jill, Brooke D’Orsay takes pride in becoming a Hallmark fan fave. Her movies include A Dickens of a Holiday!, Beverly Hills Wedding, and Nostalgic Christmas. And she gushed, “It’s so exciting to watch this genre grow! It’s not so much a message that I hope people take away, but a feeling.”
And Brooke hopes “that fans continue to tune into these movies to smile and to feel good. I think when it comes down to it, all we really want is to feel good. And these movies do just that.” Watch for Brooke in A Not So Royal Christmas, premiering December 2, 8/7c!
