Hallmark’s “Christmas in July” kicked off on July 1 and continues to bring old and new festive movies. Meanwhile, part of the popular event will see Vanessa Lengies and Jesse Hutch starring in the new, original movie Christmas in Toyland.

According to the official synopsis, Charlie (Lengies), a data analyst at a large toy store chain, finds out the company is planning to transition the business exclusively online. However, when she discovers one of those brick-and-mortar stores is outperforming the rest, she is sent to find out why.

If Charlie can figure out what is so special about this particular store, she might be able to save hundreds of jobs and keep the magic of the toy store experience alive. Once there, she meets the friendly, but stubborn store manager, Grant (Hutch). It turns out the store’s secret to success is the welcoming atmosphere he creates. In fact, he makes his toy store a popular destination for the whole community.

However, when Charlie first arrives, her analytical approach doesn’t sit well with Grant. It turns out he has a chip on his shoulder about corporate’s way of running things. However, as they bond over a shared goal of keeping the store open, he soon finds out that Charlie has a secret creative side – designing holiday toys.

While Christmas is approaching, Charlie and Grant’s time together reminds them of the simple joys of the business they both love. Moreover, as their feelings for each other grow, it reminds them that growing up doesn’t mean losing your dreams. Readers can enjoy the trailer here:

Who is in the cast of the festive movie?

Vanessa Lengies (Turn & Hooch, Stick It) plays Charlie, while Jesse Hutch (Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove, Batwoman) plays Grant. Meanwhile, more cast members can be seen on the official IMDb page for the movie.

Lara Amersey stars in an unnamed role, as does Jane Moffat, while Elena V. Wolfe plays Izzy and Benjamin Sutherland plays David.
