Hallmark’s The Way Home Is Sunday’s Second Most-Watched Cable Program

With a cast including Hollywood actress, Andie MacDowell and Grey’s Anatomy alum, Chyler Leigh, Hallmark, The Way Home was sure to be popular with viewers. Hallmark Channel: The Way Home is most-watched

Debuting on January 15, 2023, on Hallmark Channel, The Way Home stars Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh and Sadie Laflamme-Snow. Andie is the matriarch, while Chyler plays her daughter and Sadie plays her granddaughter. The show features time travel, which is always intriguing, and something Hallmark has been using a lot in their plots recently.

According to Deadline, the debut of The Way Home made it the most-watched entertainment cable destination of the week. Meanwhile, it also came out top for weekend viewing in total day and primetime, among key demos with Nielsen.

Meanwhile, the Hallmark Channel series, which is the network’s first new original series in almost seven years, was also ranked by Nielsen as the second most-watched entertainment cable program last Sunday. Moreover, The Way Home became the third most-watched show of the week, attracting 2.4 million unique total viewers.

For those who have yet to watch the new Hallmark series, it follows three generations of Landry women, who have somehow drifted apart. However, the three women embark on a journey to find their way back to each other. Moreover, they all learn important lessons about their family’s past.

Of course, the multi-generational family drama stars MacDowell (Maid), Leigh (Supergirl, Grey’s Anatomy), Laflamme-Snow (The Apprentice), and Evan Williams (Blonde).

Speaking of the new series, Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive VP for Programming at Hallmark Media, said in November:

The Way Home is a passion project and I am beyond happy to see this special series brought to life here at Hallmark, and so beautifully.

The new, original Hallmark series is executive produced by Arnie Zipursky, Marly Reed and Lauren MacKinlay for Neshama Entertainment. Moreover, Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer and Fernando Szew of MarVista Entertainment are also involved, along with Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, MacDowell and Leigh.

The Way Home airs on Sundays at 9 pm ET on Hallmark Channel.
