When Hallmark+ launched Finding Mr. Christmas Season 1, it marked the network’s inaugural reality series; dubbed “reality with heart,” this show was a unique concept from Hallmark Hunk Jonathan Bennett.
Fans frequently inquired about his involvement in a Christmas film , and he recognized that this could evolve into an exciting reality series featuring classic Christmas themes as challenges.
These challenges include cutting down a Christmas tree, the timeless meet-cute, and even collaborating with dogs.
Over the weekend, the Laughing Place participated in the ATX TV Festival in Austin. During the event, the Mean Girls star shared insights about filming Season 2-to begin with, Bennett expressed his passion for the genre.
Bennett Talks About His Love For The Genre
Bennett continued, I really enjoy the emotions that Hallmark movies evoke in me; Christmas is a passion of mine—along with reality shows—so it all adds up.
Nevertheless, when the star of The Christmas House proposed the idea to the network, they were adamant about not wanting to pursue a reality show.
Yet, he did not give up; furthermore, he could see a connection between this series and what viewers experience in a Christmas film; it felt like a seamless transition.
He aimed to discover the “best” star; “this entails having qualities like kindness, charm, and humor—you have to be someone the audience can genuinely support.”

Melissa Peterman, the chief judge of this entertaining series, emphasized that simply being attractive isn’t sufficient to shine as a Hallmark lead. “They possess a sparkle in their eyes and a witty sense of humor. You’d love to see them mow the lawn without a shirt, but you also desire to engage in a profound conversation with them.”
Most significantly, the contestants were supportive of one another. Peterman referred to this as a “fraternity,” as the competition fostered an environment where they all brought out the best in one another, including offering internal support.
