Jordin Sparks To Star In Hallmark Channel Original Movie A Christmas Treasure

Good news, as another wonderful Hallmark original Christmas movie is on the way! Titled A Christmas Treasure, the film will star American Idol and Sparkle alum, Jordin Sparks, who will also executive-produce. She will star alongside Hallmark alum Michael Xavier (Christmas Comes Twice, The Expanse). Read on to find out what we know so far about this new festive movie.

Hallmark Channel Spoilers – A Christmas Treasure On Hallmark Channel

A Christmas Treasure will premiere as part of the Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas programming event. However, the actual premiere date is still to be advised.

According to the intriguing synopsis, Lou (Sparks) will open a 100-year-old time capsule. When she finds her grandfather’s old journal, she questions whether she should move to New York after Christmas to further her writing career as she is planning. She wonders, should she rather stay in Pine Grove to continue running her family’s local newspaper.

It turns out that Kyle (Xavier), a charming chef, is also at a crossroads in his life and is visiting Pine Grove for the holidays. When Lou and Kyle meet, they find that they both have doubts about their futures. However, the magic of the Christmas season and the connection they form helps each of them on their journeys.

Hallmark Channel Spoilers – Jordin Sparks

During the movie, Sparks sings two classic Christmas songs including This Christmas, as well as playing Oh Holy Night on the piano. However, besides the classics, Jordin will also sing her own original song from her 2020 Christmas album Cider & Hennessy, titled Oh, It’s Christmas.

As noted by TV Insider, Sparks said that Christmas is so special for her and that she is thrilled to share this festive movie with everyone this year. Jordin added, “I loved being able to perform some of my favorite Christmas melodies, one for the first time, as part of the movie. Joining the Hallmark family is a dream come true! I know people are going to fall in love with Lou and our story that truly represents the phrase, ‘Home is Where the Heart is.’”

The movie comes from Christmas Treasure Road Productions Limited, with Stephanie Germain, Sparks, Allen Lewis, and Harvey Kahn serving as executive producers and Charles Cooper as producer. The film is directed by Michael Robison, from a story by Jen Notas Shapiro, while Sandra Berg and Judith Berg wrote the teleplay.
