According to Hallmark Channel’s press release, Emily Mariposa (Kayla Wallace) is a lepidopterist, which is the scientific name for a butterfly expert. Emily runs Butterflies, Inc., a successful business that releases clouds of butterflies at weddings and special events.

Meanwhile, When Calls the Heart star Kevin McGarry plays Garrett Thorson, a handsome, single, widowed father. He hires Emily for his daughter Amanda’s birthday party. During the event, the three make a connection. Through this, Emily gets the chance of a lifetime when a well-known – but demanding – socialite wants to hire her to release 1,500 butterflies at her upcoming wedding.

This is a huge order, but if she does succeed, she would get invaluable exposure for her butterfly business. Emily agrees to take on the job, while Garrett and Amanda are happy to lend a hand.

In the meantime, Emily’s feelings for Garrett grow, but his potential move to New York and the return of his former girlfriend leave her questioning if they have a future together. Meanwhile, a parasite threatens the caterpillars she is so carefully nurturing for release at the wedding. However, with the help of Garrett and Amanda, Butterflies, Inc. just might really take off, with love in the air.

Garrett’s daughter, Amanda in Feeling Butterflies is played by Alyssa Gervasi, known for her appearance in the popular Netflix show, The Umbrella Academy.
