Skyler Samuels Stars In Hallmark’s Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New

Sleuthers were pleasantly surprised (to say the least) to hear there will be another Aurora Teagarden Mysteries movie on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Meanwhile, the new movie is a prequel where the role of Candice Cameron Bure’s character’s younger self will be played by actress Skyler Samuels. When Candace Cameron Bure jumped ship from Hallmark to Great American Family, fans were worried that the Aurora Teagarden movies would come to an end. Luckily, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has announced a new movie in the series and this time it’s a prequel.

In Something New, we will get to see the younger versions of Aurora and Arthur as they start their love of sleuthing. The movie stars Skyler Samuels as Aurora, with Evan Roderick as Arthur. Meanwhile, Marilu Henner will reprise her role as Aida Teagarden.

The Aurora Teagarden franchise is a fan favorite and we’re excited to share this new chapter with viewers.

According to Deadline, the new movie, which will premiere on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries later in 2023, is set in Aurora’s (Samuels) post-college days when she finds herself back home in Lawrenceton. Her mother, Aida (Henner) is struggling to keep her real estate business running, while Aurora supports herself, working as a teacher’s assistant in a crime fiction class. Moreover, at night, she works as a waitress at a local diner. It is there that Aurora shares her love of researching true crime with her friend Sally and police officer Arthur (Roderick).

Meanwhile, when Sally’s fiancé doesn’t show up at their wedding rehearsal, her maid of honor Aurora asks Arthur to help her in her search. However, when they end up finding a body, everyone assumes its Sally’s fiancé. However, when it turns out to be someone else, Sally’s fiancé becomes the prime suspect.

When will Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New premiere?

While there is no set premiere date for Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, the movie is slated to start filming later this year.
