Hallmark Channel is teasing spring with its new, original, romantic movies coming as part of its Spring Into Love programming event. Meanwhile, starring in those movies is a host of popular stars, including When Calls the Heart lead, Erin Krakow. Other leads include Heather Hemmens, Erin Cahill and Amanda Schull. Read on to find out more about the new programming event coming to your small screen in March and April 2023.
Spring Into Love on Hallmark Channel
1. A Picture of Her
Cast: Rhiannon Fish and Tyler Hynes
Premiere date: Saturday, March 25, at 8 pm ET/PT
A Picture of Her tells the story of Beth (Rhiannon Fish), who works on her dad’s salmon boat, harbored in a picturesque fishing village in the Pacific Northwest. However, her Aunt Dody (Samantha Ferris) breaks her leg and has no family to care for her, Beth offers to visit her In Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Jake Driver (Tyler Hynes), a freelance photojournalist who goes by the name of “Shutterbot,” dreams of a career as a fine art photographer. In fact, his next gig is to shoot springtime at a farmers’ market, where he happens to snap an amazing candid image of Beth at the flower stand. He inadvertently includes it with his assignment. 2. Love in the Maldives
Cast: Jocelyn Hudon and Jake Manley
Premiere date: Saturday, April 1 at 8 pm ET/PT
Plot:
This movie is set in the exotic and beautiful Maldives and features travel writer, Rae Parker (Hudon) who has a very fabulous single life. Meanwhile, her monthly travel column, Reservation for One, attracts thousands of readers. However, Rae is surprised when her editor wants her to head to one of the world’s most romantic vacation destinations – The Conrad Maldives.
Meanwhile, she has an adventurous spirit, and staying at the luxurious Muraka doesn’t offer her the type of experiences she needs to write a worthy column. Furthermore, it also doesn’t help that Rae is afraid of the open ocean, and staying in a hotel that floats in the middle of it.
However, after a few failed solo attempts, she realizes she needs guidance and support to take the challenges outside her comfort zone. Meanwhile, Conrad’s guest experience expert, Jared Joseph (Manley) steps in to make it his personal mission to give Rae the adventure she is looking for.
3. The Professional Bridesmaid
Cast: Hunter King and Chandler Massey
Premiere date Saturday, April 8 at 8 pm ET/PT
Plot:
In the past, Maggie Bailey (King) discovered she had a particular skill set for being an ace bridesmaid and she went pro. These days, she uses her talents to help brides navigate the tricky emotional and social dynamics that go along with planning their big day. Her latest client, Alexis Shepard (Francesca Bianchi), is the daughter of the mayor of Columbus, who is currently up for re-election.
Meanwhile, Alexis’ wedding looks to be the event of the summer, with plenty of scrutiny. They decide to hire Maggie to join the bridal party to keep everything on track. However, unfortunately, Henry Whittington (Massey), an ambitious local reporter assigned to the social story, is sniffing around, hoping to get close to the major. He is hoping for a scoop on the pending development of local parkland. This leads to Maggie, coordinating three unhelpful bridesmaids while keeping Henry focused on the wedding while hiding her identity, all while she starts to grow closer to him.
4. The Wedding Cottage
Cast: Erin Krakow and Brendan Penny
Premiere date: Saturday, April 15 at 8 pm ET/PT
Plot:
A wedding guide creator (Krakow) is tasked to convince an uninspired artist, and owner of a special wedding cottage (Penny) to renovate it so as to host a contest-winning couple for their dream wedding.
5. A Pinch of Portugal
Cast: Heather Hemmens and Luke Mitchell
Premieres: Saturday, April 22 at 8 pm ET/PT
Plot:
When a celebrity chef walks off his own show, Anna (Hemmens), a prep cook, must step into the spotlight to make the show her own. Meanwhile, she has help from her Aussie cameraman and Portuguese location scout (Mitchell).
6. The Spin Cycle (working title)
Cast: Erin Cahill and Marco Grazzini
Premiere date: Saturday, April 29 at 8 pm ET/PT
Plot:
Hazel Miller (Cahill), a top publicist in New York City, is looking to increase her empire. Meanwhile, Diego Vasquez (Grazzini) is a top MLB pitcher, who froze during Game 7 of the World Series. However, he also happens to be the guy who broke Hazel’s heart in high school. When she is tasked with spinning Diego’s image, this might be her biggest challenge professionally, and personally, ever. Hazel takes him back to their hometown in Ohio to deal with what they have both left behind.
Spring Into Love On Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
1. The Blessing Bracelet (DaySpring movie)
Cast: Amanda Schull and Carlo Marks
Premiere date: Sunday, April 9 at 7 pm ET/PT
Plot:
Dawn Spencer (Schull) is approaching the Easter holiday while trying to balance being a single parent. Moreover, she is working to get out of the debt left behind by her ex-husband. Dawn is feeling overwhelmed as she unearths a bracelet she made years earlier and had stored away. She created the bracelet with four beads while intending to use each one as a reminder to count the blessings in her life. As Dawn starts focusing on the good, her faith is renewed, and her life takes a positive turn. Meanwhile, thanks to the support of her church community and the encouragement of Ben (Marks) – who recently came into her life – the blessing bracelets help to take her down a path she never would have imagined.
2. Spring Breakthrough (Mahogany movie)
Monica Rollins (Sharp) is a single mom, excitedly waiting for her daughter, Vivian (Brown), to return home for spring break, their annual tradition. However, days before this happens, and after years of tireless dedication to her job, Monica is fired. Meanwhile, to make matters worse, she is dealt another blow when Vivian announces her surprise engagement to Shawn (Dixon), someone Monica didn’t know existed. Moreover, she travels to The Gulf Shores for her engagement celebration. En route, Monica meets Clark Randall (Grosse), who also happens to be Shawn’s godfather, at the airport and an unexpected flirtation ignites.
