When Calls the Heart (WCTH) is filmed on a set about an hour south of Vancouver, Canada. The town of Hope Valley represents life in the USA in the early 20th century. Fans who watch the show see stagecoaches, horses, and the very occasional, early vehicle with wide runner-boards. So, the technology of the modern USA today might intrude on the filming process. Fans wondered about how the Hallmark producers handle that sort of technicality.
When Calls the Heart – Erin Krakow Shares BTS Photos
Erin Krakow and the rest of the cast are currently filming for Season 9 of the Hallmark show. Quite often, she takes to her Instagram and shares photos from behind the scene. Clearly, she’s very taken with the beauty of the set for Hope Valley. In particular, she seems to like the blue sky and the night scenery. Actually, some fans agree that she’s becoming quite a good photographer. In one photo, WCTH fans suspected she may have blackout out a small portion of the photo. Perhaps it revealed something that might be a spoiler. Some of them hoped it related to Lucas (Chris McNally) marrying Elizabeth (Erin Krakow).
When Calls the Heart fans really liked a photo that Erin shared that showed the crew filming at night. With the streets all lit up under the night sky, it looked magical. Apart from Erin, Andrea Brooks and Wesley Salter also shared some on their Instagram Stories. Meanwhile, Pascall Hutton who plays the role of Rosemary said the night filming was a “tall order.” Now, Erin shared another photo that looked like it was taken towards the end of the day.
When Calls the Heart – Photo With A Technical Hitch?
On September 16, Erin Krakow posted up another photo taken of Hope Valley. Letting the picture do the talking, she didn’t caption it. However, fans loved it. One of them said, “Wow what a beautiful picture.” Then another fan reminded the others much Erin loves the blue sky. They wrote, “Another bluetiful day in Hope Valley 😌.” And yes, that was an intended pun on “beautiful.” Other fans asked if Erin might do some photography instruction for them.
The photo showed the main street from When Calls the Heart. Light clouds were scattered here and there in the blue sky. And, right through the center of the sky, in a dead straight line, there appeared to be vapor trails from an airplane. One fan suggested they stopped filming. She wrote, “And…cut…plane tracks? Break time.” Then another fan asked, “Does jet stream like that in the sky bother filming? Or is it just edited out?” Unfortunately, nobody replied. Another follower noted, “Something is out of place in this picture.”

When Calls The Heart – Filming A Period Piece Might Come With Difficulty
One WCTH follower noted that it might be hard filming a “period piece” because of technological challenges like jet streamers across the sky. However, another fan suggested it might just be a part of the “horse tail clouds” formation.
What do you think? Is that an airplane vapor trial? Or, just part of the natural sky? Do you think they might stop filming every time a plane flies over? Sound off your thoughts in the comments below.
