When Calls The Heart season 8 finally revealed that it was Lucas who called Elizabeth’s heart. The decision for these two characters to come together took two years in the making. Some hearties even thought that she’d end up with Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry).

Krakow didn’t comment about her character getting paired with Lucas instead of Nathan. But she made it a point to reassure the show’s fans that they should look forward to season 9, regardless of they’re team Lucas or Team Nathan.

In a recent interview with TVLine, the actress said that there will be a lot of exciting things in the upcoming season.

“We’ve seen the fire burn between these two for years, and this season … is no exception! Lucas and Elizabeth are finally getting to explore and enjoy their relationship,” the actress said.

But season 9 won’t just focus on their romantic relationship. Fans will also get to see Lucas bond with Elizabeth’s son. When season 8 ended, some fans were concerned that he didn’t spend that much time with the kid. But this will be addressed in season 9.

“We’re also getting to see Lucas in a new light — as a father figure to Little Jack, who absolutely adores him,” Krakow teased.
