Known as Varsity Blues, the college admissions scandal included several celebrities. And Lori Loughlin dominated the headlines for her guilty plea. As a result of bribery to get her daughters into a university, Loughlin spent time in jail. But she now remains on probation. And that means a judge must approve any travel, noted the Boston Herald.

As a result, Lori just filed an appeal with a federal judge in Boston to travel to Canada. “Ms. Loughlin has requested permission to travel to Canada for work-related purposes,” states the appeal. However, the document does not include any movie or show names. And it only reveals that the appeal comes “in anticipation of being offered a filming production project.”

Although the precise location and dates did not get revealed, the appeal did offer a timeline. And the document stated, “The exact dates and location of travel are unknown at this time. However, Ms. Loughlin anticipates that she will be traveling for about one week in the middle of September or beginning of October.” Because Lori recognizes that she needs the federal court’s authorization to accept the project offer, she asked for “an expedited response,” added the document.

But the mere request for travel got fans buzzing over the possibilities. And many hope that she will return to the Hallmark channel’s When Calls the Heart. However, Lori also could plan to start work on one of Hallmark’s famous Christmas movies.

Because When Calls The Heart will film this autumn, though, Loughlin’s travel request timing does offer a clue. But Hallmark also shoots Christmas films in Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Toronto. And the network’s recent surprise offered a second clue. The network conducted a test run featuring Lori in July. And Alonso Duralde, the Wrap’s film critic, tweeted what he noticed about that trial.

I wasn't attached to any of her franchises (GSM, When Calls the Heart), and I didn't think that her crime merited the removal of her content, I'm just fascinated how they're testing the water for reinstating her shows/movies, whether or not they bring her back into the fold.

In July, Hallmark unveiled four episodes of Garage Sale Mysteries. And that release hinted that the network wanted to see if viewers feel willing to watch Loughlin’s content again. When the scandal first broke, Hallmark deleted most of Lori’s content.

But as Duralde pointed out, it looks like the network has considered a return. And he defended Loughlin. “I didn’t think that her crime merited the removal of her content,” tweeted the film critic. But he admitted feeling “fascinated” by how Hallmark wanted to perform a test. And that test combined with Lori’s travel request hints at a return to Hallmark.
