Elizabeth’s students constantly surprise her. She came up with a new way for teaching them. She combined their education with a practical and nature based approach. They’ve since done amazing work since she came up with this new idea.
She was quite proud of them and the good news kept rolling in. Elizabeth got tickets to the movie palace.
They were showing the new Buster Keaton movie. She got tickets for her and Nathan. They couldn’t wait to see the film for themselves. They’ve been doing their best to make time for themselves as a couple and a proper date was just what they needed.
Or what they thought they needed until the world decided to liven things up. First there was Rosemary. Rosemary saw a play in the city. Her husband surprised her with tickets. He didn’t know that she would fall in love with the play.
She now wants to make her own version of “The Importance of Being Ernest”. She was writing, directing, and starring in the play. She used the schoolhouse for auditions for the other roles. She listened to everyone and she felt none of them could play the titular character. Rosemary got lucky because that’s when Elizabeth gave her an idea.
Elizabeth suggested to Rosemary that she could cast Bill in the role. He worked undercover. He knows how to put on a fake accent and he was charming. Everyone likes Bill. The town would show up to support him.
Rosemary later convinced Bill of that idea, but they also had to discuss the other thing. The case against the Garrison Gang. The Garrison Gang was suspected of a train robbery. They allegedly stole a bunch of rare coins. One showed up in Hope Valley. There was another that showed up in Amsterdam.
The coins were out there. They were probably hidden. It was up to the Mounties to find them. Rosemary suggested using the public. They could tell everyone about the coins and it would kick off a nation wide treasure hunt.
Only Bill was worried that might send the Garrison Gang further into hiding. They were supposed to play it cool and it worked until Nathan’s cover was almost blown. He took Elizabeth to the pictures. They had fun. They were dancing on the sidewalk to Elizabeth’s favorite song when Nathan’s undercover name was called.
Nathan went undercover in illegal poker games. He met someone named Toddy there. Toddy claimed to work with artefacts and so Nathan pretended he was in the same field. He suspected this Toddy might be involved in the Garrison Gang.
Which was why Nathan asked Elizabeth to play along when they ran into Toddy on the street. Toddy was with his wife. They just came back from the Netherlands. Toddy was throwing a party and they invited the duo. Nathan couldn’t say no. He and Elizabeth borrowed some clothes and went to the party.
Nathan went by the name “Danny”. Elizabeth went by the name “Diane”. Their undercover personas were married. They got to dance. They drank champagne. If Toddy was on the up and up, it would have been a perfect night. Nathan and Elizabeth also had the problem of keeping their stories straight.
They kept giving different versions to different people. They were asked by Toddy’s wife to perform their song and they got lucky that they both knew it. It was “You Made Me Love You”. Nathan had just heard it the first time that night and he still managed to perform it well with Elizabeth.
Back in Hope Valley, Ava was wearing out her welcome. Her parents still haven’t wired her any money. They were now in Norway to look at the Northen Lights. Ava’s food and board was being put on a tab. There didn’t seem to be an ending in sight for that tab.
Ava was waiting tables now to supposedly help and she wasn’t particularly good at it. She also crossed Rosemary. Ava was there when Rosemary was practicing her play with the cast and she proved to be a better actress than Rosemary.
Ava knew the words to the play. She had a great accent. She could have played the female lead if Rosemary hadn’t chosen that for herself. Rosemary’s husband even noticed that. He suggested that maybe Rosemary doesn’t have to do everything herself.
She could step back. Let other people play the parts. Rosemary thought about it and she was trying to let go of her “baby”. She still didn’t like Ava only her days as an actress might be behind her now. Rosemary was looking through her old stuff while Nathan was getting ahead with the investigation.
Nathan managed not to blow his cover. He got Toddy to tell him about a stash near Benson Hills. Nathan played it cool. He got some great acting advise from Rosemary. It helped him and Elizabeth. They left the party after having a great time. Elizabeth told Rosemary all about it the next day. They had a good laugh about it.
The Governor also received some help from Nathan’s daughter. She and Oliver were trying to find a way to make the National Park work and they came up with a suggestion. They told Lucas that’s suggestion. And he couldn’t wait to discuss it with Edie Martell. It was as if he missed their verbal spars.
And Fiona sold her place tonight. She was getting married and she still wasn’t happy about it.
THE END!
