When Calls The Heart Season 8 Finale Will Feature Some Big Changes

When Calls The Heart: Elizabeth Thorton When Calls The Heart spoilers and updates reveal big changes are beginning to happen in Hope Valley, and no, that’s not a phrase I made up, that’s the theme of the May 2 episode of When Calls the Heart. It starts with the unwelcome presence of school inspector Landis, and also follows a big rift in Lucas and Elizabeth’s relationship, making for a dramatic finale episode of the series season 8.

When Calls The Heart Spoilers – Elizabeth Thorton Is Caught Between Two Hard Choices In This Episode Of When Calls The Heart

For everyone who thinks that we haven’t seen the last of Landis (Todd Thomson) when he showed up in town for graduation day at the Jack Thornton School, you’re so right. He arrived this week with a bag of bad news for Elizabeth (Erin Krakow). With enrollment predicted to rise significantly, the county board of education is more determined than ever to bring her school under its umbrella.

Elizabeth seeks help from Bill (Jack Wagner) in order to fend off the threat. He advises that the council may be able to put off consolidation plans, but there’s a more pressing problem.

Elizabeth still hasn’t received credentials to teach blind students, and if she welcomes Angela Canfield into her class, the district will shut her down immediately. Elizabeth tries to negotiate with Landis, but he insists he’s just a messenger and is not accepting any deals or requirements.

Elizabeth finds herself facing two tough choices: she’s promised Angela and her mother that Angela will be able to attend school this year and she doesn’t want to disappoint the little girl, but if she keeps her promise and allows Angela to attend her school, there won’t be a school anymore.

When Calls The Heart Spoilers – Development  In Hope Valley

You may be asking where the little children that will put Elizabeth’s one-room class in danger would come from. It turns out that Hope Valley’s quaint town status is about to change by some greedy businessmen who came to the town with a purpose. The shady Wyman Walden (Wesley Salter) is working for a group that’s buying up land with the intent of building a factory. They’ve managed to take the Canfield’s cabin, which is probably why they moved to town in this episode, and Wyman is looking to make money by purchasing properties in town as well.

However, Wyman and his partners face opposition when people learn about their plans, that is, from the skepticism in people’s faces during his sales pitch meeting.

Bill starts to doubt that they may not get approval to build their factory, while Wyman believes that they’ll come over to their side when the residents are offered easy money.

In Hope Valley, we know community comes first, but there could be another side to this story.

When Calls The Heart Spoilers – Lucas Bouchard Makes Way For Nathan Grant And Elizabeth Thorton’s Relationship

“Changing Times” takes us further into Elizabeth’s struggle with her two charming suitors. At first, Lucas was her chosen one, but as we learn in newer episodes, Nathan is starting to creep back into her heart, with the two sharing intimate moments. Lucas observes her withdrawal from him and how close she is getting to Nathan, and though Elizabeth is not yet sure how she feels about Nathan, Lucas thinks he’s got it all figured out.

Even though Elizabeth ditched him at Florence and Ned’s wedding, Lucas is still willing to wait for her. A conversation with Carson opens his mind to the realization that Elizabeth just keeps pushing him away while getting closer to Nathan at the same time. So he pays her a visit to end things.

“Love … can’t be demanded, it can’t be forced,” he tells her. “I want you to find your true love. And in order to do that, I want, I need, to set you free.”

Elizabeth becomes overwhelmed with emotion that she couldn’t speak when he turns and walks out. Her reaction cannot be easily transcribed. While she may feel guilty at having caused Lucas pain, or relief at finally getting the chance to be with Nathan, she may also realize at that moment that Lucas is the one she truly loves.
