When Calls the Heart spoilers reveal that Daniel Lissing played Jack Thornton from 2014 to 2018. It was a shock to everyone when he decided to leave the hit Hallmark TV show. The production granted his request and killed off the character. Even though some fans want him back, it’s not going to happen. The actor explained why he has zero regrets.
Jack Thornton Killed Off
WCTH spoilers reveal that at the end of season 5, Jack was killed off. He was married to Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow) after their rocky beginning. It left her raising their son all alone. Even though a lot of fans miss the mountie, there is a reason why the actor left the show. It has nothing to do with the production, show bosses, or even his co-stars. He left for a very personal reason, which he recently explained on The Grass Is Greener With Paul Greene podcast.
WCTH Spoilers – Life Journey Prompted Exit
Lissing explained that he has a life mission and there came a time when his journey required him to take the next step. He loved being on the show. He loved having a regular paycheck. He loved his co-stars and Hearties. He was even told leaving would be a colossal mistake and a bad career move. However, when your life journey says it’s time to move on, you move on.
Daniel Lissing Misses Hallmark TV Show
When Calls the Heart spoilers reveal that Lissing does miss being on the show. “… working with you guys was just so much fun. I miss it in certain ways. I miss working with Erin; we had such a great chemistry… I really enjoyed that aspect of it, I loved working with horses. Canada’s beautiful. I loved working in Vancouver. So I miss it in that aspect of things…. I loved playing Jack. I really really did,” he said. “If there was ever an opportunity to do anything again, I would not be opposed to it.”
When Calls The Heart Spoilers – Zero Regrets
Even though Lissing misses being on the Hallmark TV show, don’t expect to see him return. Not only would that be tough considering Jack was killed off, but the actor has moved on. He’s grateful that his life journey has taken him to other places to fulfill his purpose. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to him, but he has to follow his heart. And for that, Lissing has zero regrets.

He even gave others advice on following their own hearts, even if it makes no sense or others disagree. His only rule is it can’t be anything that would hurt another human being. He also explained that leaving WCTH wasn’t the first time people called him crazy. He got that reaction when he left Australia to go to Hollywood. As Hearties know, that “crazy” decision has worked out well for him.
