Hallmark Channel News – What is When Hope Calls about?

The new heartwarming series features Lillian (Morgan Kohan) and her sister Grace (Jocelyn Hudon). The pair has reconnected after being estranged for many years and team up to open an orphanage in the town. The sisters face a number of problems along the way, including the ambitions of the growing town and the traditions of the cattle ranchers living there.

However, both Lillian and Grace are also hoping to find romance and happiness, while they overcome the daunting challenges of helping the children in their care. The potential for romance is already there, as Grace takes note of Chuck (Greg Hovanessian), the town’s former rancher, now turned veterinarian, while Gabriel (RJ Hatanaka), the Mountie in Brookfield, becomes attracted to Lillian.
Beautiful relationships

Kohan told ET she loves the idea that fans can watch the “beautiful relationships” being formed among family and friends, as well as potential love partners. Morgan added that the show will give viewers the opportunity to appreciate their own families, as well as other people in their lives. This is after viewers experience people from varying backgrounds and with different views in life interacting, as well as the struggles they go through.

Hovanessian spoke of his role as Chuck on When Hope Calls, saying the show’s overall theme is inclusivity. He said people today have “lost that sense of community” and have become individualized. On the show, fans will see that acceptance “comes in the hearts of all the characters.”
