Hallmark Channel News – COVID-19 Forced World To Stop
We live in a time when the world moves faster than it ever has before, and it does it without stopping. Everything has to be now, everyone is in a hurry, stores don’t close, and lights stay on 24/7. Even waiting two minutes for coffee to brew is enough to send some into a frenzied fury.
Like the world, human beings adapted and kept going, going, going without stopping for a breath. At least, until COVID-19 forced us to slam on the brakes and come to a screeching halt. The entire globe seemed to stop and shut down, including TV productions.
Hallmark Channel News – Production Restarts, But Not At Full-Speed
When Calls The Heart season 8 is currently being filmed and the cast is either already onset or headed there. Even though the “play” button has been pressed and people are adjusting to getting back to work, it’s not the same.
For the WCTH cast, they are filming, but not at full-speed. Safety protocols are to protect everyone, but they also slow things down a lot. It takes longer to film. It even takes more time before an episode has gone through all the production steps and is ready to be broadcast on TV.
Even the cast going to the set requires patience. Vancouver productions require every cast and crew member to go into quarantine for two weeks before going to the set.
Hallmark Channel News – When Calls The Heart: Grateful To Be Working
On Instagram, Jack Wagner posted a short video clip of him at the airport. He confirmed that he was getting ready to get on a plane to go to work. He expressed his gratitude for being able to return to work.
“Heading to start S8 of “When Calls the Heart” beyond Grateful Please be safe & take care. Sending a Ton of Love to all!!”
Hallmark Channel News – WCTH: Appreciating Safety Protocols
Erin Krakow is also happy to be back to work. She recently talked about the safety protocols and how much she appreciated the efforts to keep everyone safe. Although working on When Calls The Heart feels very different now with the safety rules, she knows they are implemented for everyone’s benefit. While some people in the world are anxious about returning to work with COVID-19 still an issue, Krakow feels completely safe on set.
“I am so grateful to be getting back to work, but the only reason I’m comfortable doing so is that we are committed to prioritizing safety. It’s been disheartening to see so many people who are not taking this virus seriously. We are not yet out of the woods.”
