When Calls The Heart’s Kevin McGarry Reveals He Changed Season 8 Finale Script

When Calls the Heart spoilers and updates tease that Kevin McGarry, who plays Nathan Grant, revealed that he made a significant change in the last scene between Elizabeth and Nathan in season 8.

The actor revealed that he changed Nathan’s reaction the moment Elizabeth came to his office to tell him that she’s in love with another man. McGarry revealed that in the original script, Nathan was supposed to thank Elizabeth at the end of that iconic moment. However, McGarry admitted that he didn’t want to say that.

“I think the idea was that he was releasing from this obligation that he had to kind of protect her, but I felt like Nathan was in love with her,” the actor said.

He explained that at first, Nathan wanted to protect Elizabeth. But he eventually fell in love with her. So, he decided to change it up because they owe it not only to Nathan but to all the fans who have been with him in this journey. The actor made fans see his character get heartbroken. Instead of saying thank you, he opted to stay silent and just take that in.

The actor assured fans that Nathan isn’t going anywhere. He’ll be back in season 9 and he’s excited to know what’s next for his character.

“He’ll go on, we all get broken hearts, and that’ll be a fun thing to play,” he said. He hopes that Nathan will get a redemption story in the upcoming season. He also hoped that fans would come together and root for Hope Valley instead of being divided because one group is Team Nathan and the other Team Lucas.

When Calls the Heart  News – Kevin McGarry Stars In New Trilogy

When Calls the Heart started production for season 9 on July 21. McGarry isn’t only busy filming for the upcoming season but he’s also part of a movie trilogy with Lacey Lambert. He didn’t share much about the project except that it’s expected to premiere in 2022. There haven’t been any updates about the role he’ll play in the movie trilogy.

Aside from McGarry and Chabert, the trilogy titled The Wedding Veil will also star Alison Sweeney and Autumn Reeser. Chabert recently shared a photo of her on set with McGarry.

In the caption, she wrote, “Having so much fun filming “The Wedding Veil” with @kevin_mcgarry_w for @hallmarkchannel.”
