When Calls The Heart is a television drama series that was inspired by a book by the same name written by Janet Oke as part of her Canadian West series. The series was developed, produced and directed by Michael Landon Jr., the son of the late Michael

Landon who starred in such memorable shows as Little House on The Prairie and Highway to Heaven. With such beautiful scenery, and a decidedly Canadian cast, many have wondered where the beloved show is filmed.

Hallmark Channel – Fans Eagerly Await Season 9 of ‘When calls the Heart’

The When Calls the Heart series, filmed in Canada’s western most province of British Columbia, is hugely popular on the Hallmark Channel and has lasted for 8 seasons thus far.

In May of this year, Season 9 was announced, and fan excitement is on the rise.

According to a video on Entertainment Tonight’s YouTube channel, the cast is already sharing snaps of the set where season 9 is being filmed.

In an interview with ET Erin Krakow tells cameras, “I love our sweet little town of Hope Valley and I’m just, very grateful. Every day that I go to work I feel very grateful that I get to do this thing that I love – with people I love.”

In the video we can also see a clip showing Elizabeth, played by Erin Krakow and Mounty Nathan Grant, played by Kevin McGarry shooting their first scene of the season.

From the look on Elizabeth’s face, we can expect that, in the coming season of When Calls the Heart, things are going to be awkward as Elizabeth has made a choice between the Mounty and saloon owner Lucas Bouchard.

In the Entertainment Tonight clip, we see a tearful Elizabeth tell the Mounty, “I do love you, but I’m not in love with you. I’m just so sorry!”

Conversely, we see Lucas, gazing into Elizabeth’s eyes, say, “You’re all that’s important to me,” to which she responds, voice shaking, “Thank you for waiting for me!”

Elsewhere on the set, Rosemary, played by Pascal Hutton, becomes Editor-In-Chief of the town newspaper, alongside her husband, Leland Coulter, played by Kavan Smith.

With such a beautiful set in British Columbia the show really transports viewers back in time to a simpler time and Season 9 will be no different.

Barring complications, Season 9 of When Calls the Heart should hit the small screen between February and march of 2022.
