Lifetime Movie Gaslit By My Husband: The Morgan Metzer Story Stars Jana Kramer

One Tree Hill alum Jana Kramer returns to Lifetime for a new, Ripped From The Headlines movie, Gaslit By My Husband: The Morgan Metzer Story. Meanwhile, she leads alongside Austin Nichols, while her real-life daughter, Jolie Rae Caussin also stars in the true-crime movie.

The movie is based on the true story of Morgan Metzer, who survived a brutal attack staged by her former husband.

Jana Kramer stars in Gaslit By My Husband: The Morgan Metzer Story on Lifetime

Lovers of true-crime movies will not want to miss this new movie from Lifetime, starring Jana Kramer, Jolie Rae Caussin and Austin Nicholas. This true-crime movie tells the story of a woman who survived a brutal attack orchestrated by her former husband.

According to The Futon Critic, the true-crime movie follows childhood sweethearts Morgan (Kramer) and Rodney Metzer (Nichols). The couple wed when Morgan was 21, however, tragedy soon struck when they lost their first child after it was born. However, it wasn’t too long before the couple welcomed twins.

At that stage, things became challenging, as Rodney lost his job and they got heavily into debt. It is not long before Rodney blames Morgan’s drinking on their family problems. However, she had only one drink. Nevertheless, Rodney then accuses Morgan of pushing him down the stairs. He is so adamant about it that she believes him. Soon after this, their problems became worse as Rodney was diagnosed with cancer.

Following Rodney’s diagnosis, a masked intruder breaks into their home and assaults Morgan. Meanwhile, soon after the intruder leaves, Rodney returns home and the police are called. However, they soon find holes in Rodney’s story – it turns out he has been gaslighting Morgan for years.

Jana Kramer stars with her real-life daughter, Jolie Rae Caussin

On Wednesday, Jana Kramer took to Instagram to reveal her new Lifetime role while also sharing other exciting news. Her daughter, Jolie Rae Caussin is set to star with her as her onscreen daughter, Amelia.  In her caption, Jana wrote:

There is a lot to say around this but for now…I am ready to bring this true story to life and be a conduit for freedom for other women. Also wildly proud to have my daughter play my onscreen daughter alongside me and of course work again with @austinnichols. Thank you @lifetimetv for this next journey #domesticviolenceawareness.

When will Gaslit By My Husband: The Morgan Metzer Story premiere on Lifetime?

The press release, unfortunately, didn’t reveal the movie’s premiere date but did state that it will premiere sometime this summer.

Of interest to note, in addition to starring in this true-crime movie, Kramer has spoken out about domestic abuse and will be filming a new PSA for Lifetime’s Stop Violence Against Women initiative.
