Married At First Sight (MAFS) Season 16 brings news of a divorce. Of course, it’s not all that uncommon in the Lifetime show. This time, couple Jose San Miguel Jr. and Rachel Gordillo decided to get a divorce. Fans saw that at the Reunion, they decided that would try again, as they formerly split. However, it didn’t work out despite their efforts, and fans pretty much saw that coming from a mile away.
Married At First Sight Works…Occasionally
MAFS fans sometimes claim that counselors on the Lifetime show put the most unlikely couples together. The show selects applicants and then pairs them off, based on their questionnaires, and more. However, often, things just work pan out that easily. In fact, more than once along came an episode titled about divorce. Notable, back in Season 11, an episode carried the title, “We Need To Get A Divorce.” Given that the couples never set eyes on their partner until they walked down the aisle, it’s hardly a massive surprise when things don’t work out.
The news that Married At First Sight couple Jose San Miguel Jr. and Rachel Gordillo decided on divorce came via People Magazine. The outlet reported on December 10, that they said in a joint statement, “After much thought, we have decided that we are better off going our separate ways.” Well, it sounds like they didn’t rush into the decision, but eventually, they decided to take the best option for themselves. The statement noted that they felt very grateful for all the support they received from fans.

When Page Six posted about the split on Twitter, Lifetime fans responded in the comments. One of them wrote, “I don’t think the couples are taking it serious anymore and social media is ruining the experience. Everybody is always chasing and thinking there’s something better.” Then another fan noted, “Smh they need to stop this show.” Meanwhile, others mocked the marriage experts. And, not for the first time, either.
Married At First Sight fans on Twitter generally seem very scathing about the show as it so very seldom works out for the couples. One of them commented, “Married at First Sight is just such a fail. Season after season.” This comment also arrived on December 11: “I used to really like married at first sight but i got bored with the same process every season but maybe i need to give it a try again.” Another fan noticed the scarcity of real relationships. They wrote, “I’m just catching up on the latest season of Married at First Sight and …the only ok dude is Gil. Everybody else is acting mad childish and unrealistic.”

Fans Think That Social Media Ruins The Show
Married At First Sight fans who always predicted that Jose San Miguel Jr. and Rachel Gordillo wouldn’t work out, feel that social media ruins the show.
