While success was hoped for, three of the five couples weren’t able to remain together and divorced on Decision Day. Of the two remaining duos, one divorced just weeks afterward.

MAFS Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd, Taylor Dunklin and Brandon Reid, Katie Conrad, and Derek Sherman, Meka Jones, and Michael Watson, along with Mindy Shiben and Zack Justice surely had couple’s status fans. But among individual cast members, who is the favorite cast member?

Married At First Sight Spoilers – Jessica And Austin – Two Sweet People Came Together

Jessica and Austin proved to be MAFS’ best match. Their instant spark grew into love, with their marriage lasting past Decision Day through to the present day and an enduring bond projected.

The concern Jessica had about her new husband being away from home for extended periods of time, due to Austin’s work schedule, was understandable. It’s natural for any newly married couple to want to be together.

Austin didn’t feel comfortable using the word love through the bulk of this season’s episodes. But he acknowledged his love for Jessica on Decision Day. The respect he offered to Jessica throughout this season easily ranks the highest when all other husband’s interactions with their wives are compared.


Married At First Sight Spoilers – Taylor And Brandon – No Match, But Intrigue Abounds

There were differences of opinion about Taylor’s impact on Brandon. It must also be said that some observers offered harsh critiques about Brandon’s forthrightness toward his wife and with the production staff.

However, Michael’s referenced point about social anxiety in this season’s finale was well-taken. Brandon’s reactions during various episodes could be seen in a different context when considering this perspective. It’s reasonable to believe that Brandon’s decision to be part of MAFS created an unexpected defensive reaction, in response to the lack of privacy, that he wasn’t expecting.

Brandon and Taylor were initially attracted to each other. But their paring proved to be troublesome over time. However, it’s possible to see beyond the issues they experienced, even after the divorce, and realize that each person has a lot to offer someone else.

Married At First Sight Spoilers – Katie And Derek – Recognizing Reality Represents Wisdom

This couple had its moments. Katie and Derek found aspects within each other to like, but love never took route.

In this pairing, as opposed to some others, verbal disputes led to what seemed to be a deepening relationship. Both people believed a shared future was plausible, which is why they made the decision, like Jessica and Austin, to remain married on Decision Day.

Katie’s choice to become reacquainted with an ex-significant other hurt, Derek. But he already sensed that their marriage wasn’t working out shortly after Decision Day. Nevertheless, Derek’s adventurous spirit and Katie’s willingness to be open are attractive qualities.

Married At First Sight Spoilers – Meka And Michael – It’s Okay To Be In Different Places

Meka and Michael were simply at two different points in their lives. They did express sincere feelings about wanting to be together. But Meka’s efforts to help Michael feel more comfortable with discussing portions of his past proved too demanding.

In the end, Meka felt that she couldn’t get to know Michael. She clearly expressed her feelings and was willing to admit her flaws.

Michael’s statements about his challenging childhood were impactful. Trying to make a marriage work within the confines of a television series would be enough for anyone. No one in the audience should have expected him to fully work through his vulnerabilities with the time that was allotted on this season of MAFS.

Married At First Sight Spoilers – Mindy and Zack – Applying Life’s Lessons Now

Mindy was influenced by and sought the advice of her friends during earlier episodes of this series. That’s a revealing and problematic position to be in.

Zack admitted that it was wrong to have never moved in with Mindy. Being in that unexpectedly awkward position, Mindy then sought her friend’s input and support. People don’t agree to involve themselves in other people’s healthy relationships.

Thankfully, Mindy and Zack had an open discussion during the finale and both people seem to be doing well now. Each person appeared to recognize that standing personal growth can lead to future relationship possibilities.
