Married at First Sight Spoilers: Meka Jones Says Michael’s Ex Nominated Him For The Show

On Married at First Sight: Unfiltered on Wednesday night, Meka said Michael’s ex, who he had emotionally cheated on, had signed him up.

When it comes to Married at First Sight, different people have different motivations for going on the show and marrying a complete stranger. On the latest episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Meka opened up about Michael Watson’s motivations for being there.

Meka said Michael had been nominated for the tenth season of Married at First Sight by his former girlfriend, and that he was continuing to have a relationship with that girlfriend, even though he married Meka.

On the Unfiltered episode, Meka was shown a clip from season 10, where after the wedding. Michael had told her family he had “emotionally cheated” on a girlfriend in the past. When Meka was asked her feelings about this, she said it makes her “proceed with caution.”

Meka said she has been cheated on before, and when she hears someone has cheated, she automatically puts up her guard. She said whether the cheating is emotional of not, it is still cheating.

When host Jamie Otis asked Meka how this topic had come up in the first 24 hours of their marriage, Meka replied, it was when the question “Why did you do this [show]” came up that Michael said he ex had nominated him. Jamie was shocked to hear the news.

Meka herself imagined his ex filling out a questionnaire for him to get married at first sight, asking what kind of relationship did they have? After that, she said they spoke about trust issues and past relationships and discussed what their marriage would look like.

Mindy Shiben and Jessica Studer are also season 10 brides and said what they thought about the subject. Jessica said she would have wanted more details, but she would feel this was cheating too. However, Jessica did praise Michael for being “open and honest” and “transparent” about the situation. Mindy found it kind of ”ballsy” that he opened up about it at brunch with his in-laws.

When Meka was asked if Michael still had a relationship with his former girlfriend, she was told they had a “pretty good relationship.” Jessica then asked Meka to confirm that this woman was the ex Michael had emotionally cheated on, and who had signed him up on the show, to which Meka said yes.

This led Mindy to say she wouldn’t want to be where Meka is right now, saying it he is still close to his ex, he was “leaving himself open for more emotional cheating,” to which Jessica agreed.
