Charlies Angels

The Charlie’s Angels movie wasn’t a gift that was sent from heaven. It was a box office flop that went straight to hell. The action film that starred Kristen Stewart and two unknown actresses wasn’t enough to captivate audience. It’s unlikely that anyone would want to see an action movie starring Kristen Stewart. Bosley wouldn’t be happy to hear that his Angels flopped at the box office. The new Charlie’s Angels movie wasn’t exactly a reboot, but it sure looked like one. Most fans it was a reboot of the popular 2000 and 2003 films. But instead, it was a continuation of the previous films that did better at the box office and later became cult classics.

It was more on par with Men in Black: International since it didn’t give the fans what they wanted. And what they wanted was all of the elements of the previous Charlie’s Angels films. They didn’t even ask for this ensemble cast or soundtrack. For one, the movie didn’t have enough star power.

When the trailer first dropped, it featured Kristen Stewart, which intrigued some fans. But you can’t base a movie on social media reactions alone. Stewart has a dedicated fan base thanks to her Twilight days. While it’s likely that they turned out for Charlie’s Angels $8.6 million reported opening, it wasn’t enough to become a box office success, according to CinemaBlend.

The new Charlie’s Angels films had Dijmon Hounsou, Elizabeth Banks, and Patrick Stewart, but it failed to establish its new talent. These new actresses have to get their start somewhere, but it’s still risky for a movie that’s based on two successful films as well as the popular 1976 series.

Nonetheless, director Elizabeth Banks is proud to have a flop movie on her resume. directed, produced, and starred in the latest Angels film, according to the Los Angeles Times. She took to Twitter on Monday, Nov. 18 to defend her latest project.
