Gal Gadot – Calls New Spy Movie A “Raw Action Thriller”

Who better to play our next favorite spy than our very own Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot?

Since her “Red Notice” days playing the character known as the Bishop, fans have been yearning to see Gal in similar roles. “Heart Of Stone” looks like the answer fans have been wishing for.

In the upcoming Netflix movie – said to be a planned franchise like “Jason Bourne” – Gal Gadot plays the titular spy Rachel Stone.

Who is Rachel Stone? Well, “Rachel Stone is an intelligence operative, the only woman who stands between her powerful, global, peace-keeping organization and the loss of its most valuable – and dangerous – asset.”

Even though an official trailer is yet to be released, fans first got a glimpse of the movie during Netflix’s TUDUM. The clip shared was filled with action scenes enough to make any action fanatic drool.

“Heart of Stone is going to be extremely epic,” Gal said. “It’s a super grounded, raw action thriller.”
Her co-star, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who is making her Hollywood debut with the movie, added, “It has these characters that you really connect with and feel for.”

Jamie Dornan, who stars as Parker in the project, promised that “there’s so much going on and it’s so big scale.”

Gal, 37, then noted that the movie’s creators wanted the movie to be “so realistic” that viewers can feel pain through the characters. Describing her character, Rachel Stone, Gal said she “lives off the adrenaline. She’s addicted to it.”

The Creators Behind Netflix’s “Heart Of Stone”

“Heart Of Stone” was first announced in December 2020, with the aim to kickstart a whole new franchise. In January 2021, it was announced that Netflix has received the distribution rights.

The following January, filming for the movie kicked off, with scenes shot in different locations around the world during its 5-month shoot, including places like UK, Iceland, and Portugal. Principal photography wrapped in July 2022.

The film is directed by “Peaky Blinders” and “War and Peace’s” Tom Harper. The script is co-written by comic book writer Greg Rucka, who is known for working with Netflix for his comic adaptation of the “The Old Guard” series, and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Allison Schroeder, known for having writing credits on films like “Hidden Figures” and “Christopher Robin”.

“Heart of Stone” is set to premiere on Netflix on August 11.
