‘Hunger Games’ Spinoff ‘Sunrise On The Reaping’, Everything We Know!

The ‘Hunger Games’ spinoff ‘Catching Fire’ literally caught fire following its release, so much so that the author of the series Suzanne Collins hadn’t yet completed the next book ‘Sunrise On the Reaping’ when Lionsgate greenlit the movie.

Personally, I think this is the most awesome book/movie thing that’s happened since ‘Harry Potter.’ Who’s up for more sci-fi adventures in the dystopian society that is the world of ‘Hunger Games?’

What Will ‘Sunrise On the Reaping’ Be About?

On March 18, the wait will finally be over as ‘The Hunger Games‘ prequel hits the market.

The book’s description goes: “As the day dawns on the fiftieth annual Hunger Games, fear grips the districts of Panem.

This year, in honor of the Quarter Quell, twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes. Back in District 12, Haymitch Abernathy is trying not to think too hard about his chances. All he cares about is making it through the day and being with the girl he loves.”

It continues: “When Haymitch’s name is called, he can feel all his dreams break. He’s torn from his family and his love, shuttled to the Capitol with the three other District 12 tributes: a young friend who’s nearly a sister to him, a compulsive oddsmaker, and the most stuck-up girl in town. As the Games begin, Haymitch understands he’s been set up to fail. But there’s something in him that wants to fight . . . and have that fight reverberate far beyond the deadly arena.”

Interesting, isn’t it? But there’s something even more exciting for the movie lover in us. Yup we’re ready to say it.

Source Reveals Prep Is Underway For Lionsgate’s ‘Sunrise On the Reaping’ Adaptation

The upcoming ‘Sunrise On the Reaping’ adaptation will be the fifth film set in ‘Hunger Games’ universe that’s been adapted thus far.

Earlier today, Francis Lawrence revealed that prep will begin in April for ‘Sunrise On the Reaping.”
He said: “After London, I’m going to go on a scout, and then we start prepping in April, and we shoot this year.”

This means that we’re still on cue for a 2026 release.
