Aside from the new episodes, there will be five stand-alone primetime specials at 10 p.m. Those new installments are heavily featured in the new trailer. The late-night episodes will take a sinister turn as Elly (Jodi Anasta) is shipped off to Pierce’s (Tim Robards) remote island to celebrate her 35th birthday with a few of her Ramsay Street friends. Neighbors iconic character Toadie (Ryan Moloney) is on the passenger list. Finn Kelly (Rob Mills) returns to his sinister side as he takes revenge on the characters.
The trailer teases what’s to come. Finn succumbs to his dark side as he hits a mysterious person over the head with a rock. There’s an explosion heard at the wedding expo at Lassiter’s, which includes the likes of Sky (Stephanie McIntosh) and Dylan (Damien Bodie). Chaos and devastation are sure to loom. Not to mention, there will be three confirmed deaths. Who will make it out alive?

The soap was expected to celebrate its anniversary in a big way. It didn’t want to throw another big party. It wanted killer scenes and a series of late-night specials. That means this soap is about to get even darker. It’s similar to the Hotel Death Trap week, but even worse. Neighbours continues its 35th anniversary week on March 16 on Channel 5.
