Neighbours has revealed that former Home and Away star Christine Hayes is joining the soap this week as Ebony Buttrose, Pierce’s fiancé.

Upon finding out that Pierce was back in Erinsborough, Chloe was convinced that he wanted her back, despite warning from her friends and family that this probably wasn’t the case. When she finds out that Pierce has hired out the Back Lane Bar for the night and bought a ring, she’s somehow convinces herself that’s he’s going to propose to her.

Wanting to let him down gently, Chloe races to the bar to talk him down as soon as possible. She tells him that, though he’s a great man, they don’t belong together, giving him one final kiss. But it’s soon clear she’s got the wrong end of the stick when Ebony arrives, leaving her humiliated.

Chloe feels even more awkward later on, when Ebony starts to take a real interest in her, wanting to know everything about the woman that Pierce once loved. This interest leaves Chloe suspicious, feeling that something about Ebony is off. Though Aaron and David warn Chloe to step away from the situation, she becomes obsessed with the idea that Ebony is only interested in Pierce for his money.

Amusingly, Ebony is equally sceptical about Chloe, believing that she is going to try and steal her fiancé from her. Showing her true colours, Ebony finally turns nasty with Chloe, warning that she needs to leave Pierce alone as she’s missed her opportunity for a ‘meal ticket’.
