It’s been on the cards for a little while now, but Neighbours showrunners have officially confirmed that Kirsha Rebecchi (Vani Dhir) will be leaving the show this week.
Only a few weeks ago viewers watched as Kirsha revealed to her uncle Toadie that she wanted to move to Sydney and attend a boarding school. Her teachers and uncle knew that she would be great there and landing the scholarship was very likely, but her parents were less convinced, believing she wasn’t yet ready to leave home, let alone to another state.
Kirsha’s parents were furious that Toadie went behind their backs and encouraged Kirsha to reply, particularly Shane who has been giving his brother the cold shoulder for days. However, upcoming scenes will show Shane starting to soften to the idea, eventually changing his mind completely and admitting to his wife that they should respect their daughter’s wishes.
With her parent’s permission and a scholarship waiting for her in Sydney, Kirsha leaves Ramsay Street at the end of next week, saying farewell to her family and friends. Eager for her independent lifestyle to begin right away, Kirsha insists that she travels to Syndey alone. Though her parents are unsure about the idea – she is quite young after all – Shane once again insists that his daughter is totally capable of this and therefore must be allowed to do as she wishes.
