Neighbours Spoilers: Jodi Anasta Leaving – Elly Conway Story Coming To A Close

After four years in Neighbours, Jodi Anasta has announced that she will be leaving the show, marking Elly Conway’s departure from Erinsborough.

Anasta, who joined the Australian soap in 2016, is leaving to pursue other acting opportunities and move back to Sydney to be with her daughter.

The character of Elly was initially played by Kendell Nunn from 2001 to 2002 but was reintroduced to Neighbours by Anasta. Elly is the niece of Susan Kennedy and came to Erinsborough to work at the high school alongside her aunt. But she was in for a bumpy start when she clashed with many of her students and Neighbours.

One person, she didn’t clash with though was Ned, and there began one of Elly’s many memorable relationships on Ramsay Street. She also dated Finn, a manipulative, attempted murderer who got amnesia and ended dating her sister, Bea Nillson. Then there was Mark Brennan, who thought he had finally found the girl he was going to marry until she slept with his sister Chloe just days before the wedding. She also pretended to be pregnant with Mark’s child, though it was actually a result of a one-night stand. There really never was a dull moment with Elly.

So, she’s had some very memorable storylines on her time in Neighbours, but how will Elly’s story come to a close? One fan theory suggests that Shaun Watkins, the father of Elly’s daughter Aster, isn’t really dead, but was forced to stay away in a dark plot by his manipulative mother. Could he shockingly turn up in Erinsborough? Or what about her renewed feelings for Finn Kelly, perhaps that leads to her departure. With Finn confirmed to be leaving in March, this definitely seems possible.

The date of Elly’s exit has not yet been made public, but fans can expect to see her departure in the Spring.
