Neighbours Spoilers: Kylie Minogue Reveals Truth About Those Casting Rumors

It’s been almost 30 years since Kylie Minogue graced our screens as Charlene Robinson (Nee Mitchell), but she is still inundated with questions about a possible return to Ramsay Street.

Charlene hit screens in 1986 and fans quickly fell in love with the feisty, quick-tempered and outspoken tomboy. They weren’t the only ones to fall in love with her – Charlene soon began a relationship with fellow Ramsay Street resident Scott Robinson. The pair married the next year and secured their place as the most iconic Neighbours couple ever. Charlene left the street in 1988, moving to Brisbane where her grandfather bought a house for her and Scott.

Of course, we know that Minogue left the show to focus on her hugely successful music career. But with the recent return of her old best friend Plain Jane Superbrain, fans have vowed that a Charlene comeback would be the cherry on top of the cake.

However, as Scott and Charlene’s son Daniel was on the show for two years between 2014 and 2016 without a visit from his parents, it’s unlikely that Charlene would turn up for a friend.

In addition to being super busy with her music career, this is probably because Minogue doesn’t think that reprising her role of Charlene would be a good idea, believing that good things should be left untouched.
“I don’t know that I could,” she tells Dan Wootton on The Dan Wootton Interview podcast.

“Never say never about anything but I just think it would be a let-down. I think Charlene lives in that time and lives in people’s memories [a certain way]. I mean, it hasn’t stopped me being incredibly excited that Plain Jane Super Brain is about to make a return to Neighbours but no, it’s not happening at this point in time.”
