Thankfully, we didn’t have to say goodbye forever as he and Xanthe were still in a long-distance relationship. But it didn’t last long; their busy schedules took their toll, forcing the young lovers to end their relationship. In emotional scenes shown on Tuesday, Ben finally left our screens for good.

Felix – who was the fourth actor to play Ben Kirk – finished filming Neighbours late last year, deciding instead to pursue his career in America.

Speaking candidly about his departure on his Instagram feed, Felix (@itsfelixwhat) wrote: “And that’s a wrap on Ben!!! (100% definitely for real this time.)”

He continued, “To everyone who’s watched over the years, your support has been infallible. YOU keep the show going, and you are the reason we get the opportunity to tell these stories. So so so so much love for you. To the wonderful people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside and learning so much from every day, all I can do is thank you. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to grow up @Neighbours, it’s been real #4years.”

Since leaving Australia, Felix has been loving life in America. He’s kept fans up to date on social media, showing his evening hangs with former Neighbour turned academy winner Margot Robbie, as well his work ventures with former co-star Travis Burns (Tyler Brennan).

Most excitingly, Felix has landed a roll in an untitled comedy pilot on CBS, which follows a couple who have become tired of their average life. As they attempt to reconnect with their youth, a popular singer called Cooper – played by Felix – moves in, and is drawn to their suburban existence.

Felix was a great addition to Neighbours, and he’s sure to be a hit overseas too. Good luck Felix!
