Alaskan Bush People Matt Brown Reportedly Gone MIA After Refusing Sober Coach

Just a month after Matt Brown completed his rehab stint, the “Alaskan Bush People” family is said to be worried about their eldest son’s sobriety. Matt’s rehab program for his alcohol addiction was originally intended to be 90 days, but the 36-year-old decided to leave the in-treatment facility after just one month. He promised to work on his sobriety by going to meetings and therapy, but recent reports claimed that he was strongly against working with a 24/7 sober coach.

Alaskan Bush People Billy and Ami Worry Matt Is Suffering A Relapse

A new report by RadarOnline indicates that Billy and Ami are afraid that their eldest son could be suffering another relapse. According to sources, Matt has left the family home in Washington amid tensions between him, his parents, and siblings. Allegedly the troubled reality star did not tell anyone where he was going.

“The family is all incredibly worried right now because Matt didn’t even tell anyone he was leaving. He just up and left even though he was advised to stay put and focus on his sobriety,” the source told Radar.

Billy, Ami, and the rest of the family later found out that Matt is apparently in California after a picture of him surfaced on the internet. The photo reportedly shows Matt posing with fans outside a party store in Palm Desert.

Matt has long struggled with alcohol addiction. His first rehab stint was back in 2016 after he was arrested for a DUI. His latest bout with alcohol abuse was said to have been caused by the emotional distress from dealing with his mom Ami’s cancer battle.

Prior to Matt’s disappearance, his dad was said to be pushing him to report to a sober coach. Now, family insiders claim that Billy and Ami have accepted that they can’t do anything about their son’s troubles.

“His family can’t do any more to help him now,” the source said. “All they can do now is pray.”

“Alaskan Bush People” is slated to air a new season on Discovery by spring next year.
