Alaskan Bush People Son Matt Brown Completes Rehab Stint

Good news for “Alaskan Bush People” fans! Matt Brown, Billy and Ami’s eldest son, is now out of rehab and on his way to recovery. Radar Online reported that the 37-year-old reality star, who has long struggled with alcohol abuse, checked himself out of rehab by the end of October and is now back with his family.

Reportedly, Matt’s rehab program was originally intended for 90 days, but the reality star was ready to leave after one month. Matt is fully committed to working on his sobriety and is still seeking treatment at an undisclosed outpatient facility near the family’s home.

“Matt has been attending recovery meetings and has been working with a sober coach, as well as going to therapy and counseling to battle his addictions,” a source close to the Brown family revealed.

In September, Matt Brown admitted that he has entered rehab to deal with substance abuse. It was his second stint in rehab, the first one being in 2016. According to family insiders, the eldest Brown sibling took to alcohol again as a way to deal with his mom Ami’s cancer diagnosis.

“I struggle with substance abuse, and after a year of ups and downs, I decided to return to treatment. I’m really grateful for everyone’s support and hope to have my life back on track soon,” Matt told People in September.

Billy and Ami, along with the rest of the Brown family, were supportive of Matt’s decision. Apparently, Matt’s relapse happened while the Browns were filming “Alaskan Bush People” Season 8, though his rehab stint was not featured in the Discovery show. However, many fans noticed Matt’s disheveled look and were concerned about the reality star.

“Alaskan Bush People” Season 8 dealt with the Browns’ big move from Alaska to Washington following Ami’s grueling cancer battle. It also featured Noah Brown’s wedding to Rhain Alisha. Now that Ami has been declared miraculously healed from advanced lung cancer, fans are hoping that the Brown family will be up to film another season of the reality-documentary show.
