Well that was fast, even for the dizzying world of politics. Hours after it was announced that Barron Trump would serve as one of Florida’s at-large delegates for the Republican National Convention, his mom Melania nixed that plan.

Barron turned 18 this year but it appears that his mom still holds a lot of power in his life. ABC news reported that Barron, Melania and Donald Trump’s only child, was on the list of influential delegates. Until he wasn’t.

According to Forbes, Melania swiftly announced that Barron will not be on the VIP list that includes Pam Bondi, Sergio Gor, Steve Witkoff, and Ike Perlmutter. Here’s what to know about this sudden turnabout.

Is Melania Running Barron’s Life?

We now know that Melania Trump’s office confirmed to the Daily Mail that her son “has declined Florida’s invitation to serve as a delegate at the Republican National Convention (RNC) this summer.”

According to reports, Florida Republicans chose Barron Trump as a delegate to the RNC in Milwaukee this July.

That means he would be among the select group of individuals nominating his father as the presidential nominee. Trump has served one term as POTUS.

Barron Trump – Obeys His Mom

Melania’s office confirmed that Barron regrettably will not participate in the summer convention. Why? Because of undisclosed prior engagements.

A spokesperson for Melania Trump issued this statement first announced in the Daily Mail: “While Barron is honored to have been chosen as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he regretfully declines to participate due to prior commitments.”

Does Barron Make Up His Own Mind?

While Barron will not be in attendance, Trump’s other kids will be: Don Jr., Eric, and Tiffany are all delegates for the state of Florida where the Trumps reside.

Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband were active in The Donald’s first term as president but they are not participating in the RNC delegation.

Fans were looking forward to seeing Barron in action as he is a private figure about whom little is known. Barron graduates from high school this year and is said to be in the process of choosing a college for the fall.
