While Trump’s meeting with Zelenskyy wasn’t full of any pomp and circumstance, it wasn’t also completely cold, either.

The meeting came after Trump criticized Zelensky, telling him to “make a deal” with Russia to end the war.

“It’s a shame what’s happening in Ukraine. So many deaths, so much destruction. It’s a horrible thing,” Trump said to reporters.

What’s more, the meeting comes after the U.S. announced yet another aid package for Ukraine.

Needless to say, both fans and critics on both sides of the aisle certainly did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.

What’s Next In Ukraine’s War Against Russia?

Some people even commented with, Funding a war Ukraine can’t win makes absolutely no sense. Unless it’s not a war we are funding…but more of a political embezzlement scheme.”

“It certainly will not be Biden or Harris who will end the war. You can take that to the bank.”

Another critic wrote, “Zelenskyy should be grateful Trump even met with him. He was literally flown into PA on a U.S. Air Force C-17 to essentially campaign for the Democrats.”

“Glad that Trump is open to meeting with people who have different opinions than his. Especially when it comes to foreign leaders.”

And then there was this comment as well: I don’t care who helps end the war, whether Trump, Biden, Harris or the Jolly green giant. It needs to end, or we just need to stop funding it (which would bring about the same result, imo).”

“War is horrific, for all parties involved, on all sides. If Trump can help negotiate peace in some way, who am I to argue with that?”
