In a new op-ed for the Daily Beast, Stephanie Winston Wilkoff, who used to work closely with Melania Trump as her aide, says she knows exactly what she’s doing by keeping her distance from Donald Trump and his historic court case.

She thinks that Melania is keeping her distance away from everyone for a good reason. And that reason is why is simply protecting herself from everyone.

In her piece, Stephanie wrote, “Melania’s existence is predicated on always minimizing the impact of Donald’s often despicable behavior.”

“Her defense mechanism is her ability to lock the door and throw away the key to most anything that brings her emotional discomfort.”

Stephanie even recalled a time that she expressed concern about Melania and everything she was dealing with because of her husband’s reputation.

She recalled the former First Lady saying,  “Don’t be, I know who I married… Look, I know what the truth is, and it doesn’t need to be explained. Some things don’t need to be dignified with an answer. It’s my life.”

“It’s nobody’s business. Don’t feel sorry for me! I’m fine.”

Clearly, Melania really doesn’t care what other people think of her. She would rather allow her silence do to all of her talking for her. And so far that strategy has worked out very well for her.
