Talk about a surprising turn of events. It seems as though Donald Trump is now getting close to some of his past political foes and for a good reason, too. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Is Donald Trump Now Getting Close To Some Of His Former Political Foes?
According to the latest reports, Trump nominated Florida Senator Marco Rubio to be the U.S. Secretary of State.
Let’s not forget that this is the same Marco Rubio who made fun of the size of Trump’s hands during a debate back in 2016.
“It is my Great Honor to announce that Senator Marco Rubio, of Florida, is hereby nominated to be The United States Secretary of State,” Trump said in his statement.
“Marco is a Highly Respected Leader, and a very powerful Voice for Freedom. He will be a strong Advocate for our Nation, a true friend to our Allies, and a fearless Warrior who will never back down to our adversaries. I look forward to working with Marco to Make America, and the World, Safe and Great Again!”
What’s Next For Donald Trump’s Administration?
Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter. Some critics said, “I’m not so concerned about him being against Trump. Vance was against Trump once too. I’m worried about him being a radical Neocon warhawk. I’m hoping his future is different from his past.”
Another critic wrote, “Senator Marco Rubio will be an excellent Secretary of State and I’m confident that Governor Ron DeSantis will appoint an equally excellent patriot to replace him in the Senate.”
And then there was this comment as well: “It’s politics, Trump has thrown jabs at most the people in his cabinet , and vice versa …. As long as they know that Trump is the boss now and execute his agenda.”
“The last person we need as Secretary of State, a neocon who will get us in a war. My same concern goes for the Defense Secretary who supports war in Iran.”
