ABC’s New Hip Hop Soap Opera – What We Know!

ABC’s, “Queens” spoilers take a look a the next soap opera. Except, this one is a little bit different. That is right, this soap opera is not anything like “General Hospital.” In fact, this newest soap opera, is actually a hip hop soap opera. 

“Queens” is the newest soap opera and it is a hip hop one at that. On October 19th, @ 10 pm, EST, “Queens” aired on ABC.

“Queens” may look like a 90s hip hop video, however, it is not. This show is more of a musical  and a character drama. It tells the stories of four women and their lives, plus the second chances that they get too.

Singing and musicals is not a surprise when it comes to soap operas, however, this one is quite different. “Queens” plot lines are sung by the lyrics of the musical numbers presented to the audience. 

“Queens” is not like your regular run of the mill soap opera either. This show is one you have to pay attention to, especially the lyrics of this show. 

It is a hip hop drama, but there is much more than that. A few episode in, you will see that this show is a prime time hip hop soap opera. 

Meet The Four Main Characters

“Queens” has four main characters, their names are Briana, Jill, Valeria, and Naomi. They were a girl group and in the late 90s, they were on fire. The group eventually broke up due to life’s struggles. 

The group went in different directions and many not so successful either. The group is finally offered a high-profile reunion. All of the girls agree to reunite with one another. The group actually reunites to be on a television show.

The shows highlights that as one of the main points of the series, however, there are other plots happening as the group works on getting a fan base again. There is a cheating husband, one of the gilrs in the group is a lesbian.

There is a mother and daughter story as well in this soap opera. Of course, if its a soap, there has to be backstabbing in it. Also, later in the series, one of the group members is diagnosed with cancer. 

If you think this is a soap opera that you might enjoy, and you like music, this is a great show to watch. 

With a cast that includes, Eve, Brandy, Nadine Velasquez,and Naturi Naughtonm this is going to be a soap that we all love and talk about.
