Ohio law, as well as several other states, requires people who are about to get married to obtain a marriage license before the ceremony for it to be legal.
According to court documents, Tammy and Caleb’s marriage license may not have been obtained in time for their wedding. If this is the case, Tammy and Caleb’s marriage would not have been legal then.

At one point there was another theory about Tammy’s wedding that was floating around the internet. However, the validity of that story is still to be decided.
It was suggested by some social media outlets that Tammy and Caleb renewed their vows in January 2023. According to Soap Dirt on January 20, 2023, “The probate court told Soap Dirt exclusively that “the license was granted on November 21, 2022, and then the date of the marriage was January 18, 2023.” So whether or not the November marriage was legal, the January one should be.
