Tammy Slaton feels thrilled about all the benefits of her weight loss surgery. And as the 1000-Lb Sisters star, 37, shared on TikTok, one of the most unexpected benefits and most appreciated involves her hair, per People.

“I kinda wanted to talk about my hair actually,” Tammy told her followers. “If y’all have been watching, in the fourth season episode 3 you’ll see in the beginning I had red curly hair. That was this past February,” she added before boasting, “And since then, my hair has actually grown so much.”

But the 1000-Lb Sisters star couldn’t resist gushing. And Tammy revealed, “The surgery has actually done wonderful for my hair and for my body and for my health. And for my everything!” she exclaimed. “I’m proud of myself, I’m proud of my hair….it’s a work in progress.”

And Tammy also reflected on how her weight loss transformed her. The 1000-Lb Sisters star lost a total of 440 pounds. At Tammy’s highest weight, she checked in at 725 pounds.

However, since weight loss surgery in July 2022, the 1000-Lb Sisters star now has slimmed down and enjoyed all the benefits. And she admitted, “One of the big changes that I have gone through this past year is probably small to most people. But for me it was huge.”

And Tammy shared her pride in walking “without a walker.” The 1000-Lb Sisters star also takes pride in not requiring someone to push her in a wheelchair. And she also no longer needs oxygen, not even “at night anymore.”

However, Tammy also feels thrilled “to fit in a regular vehicle, front seat, and then the belt buckle, and not have to use an extender now. So I mean, just what seems minor to some people is giant for me.”

And as spoilers from 1000-Lb Sisters reveal Tammy at home with her brother Chris. He invites her to sit in the front seat of the car to see if her weight loss has helped. 

And Chris asks, “We’re gonna try and put you in the front seat today, are you game?” But Tammy hesitates. And the 1000-Lb Sisters spoilers reveal her worrying that she can’t “fit between the door and the console.”

But Tammy then admits, “The last time I sat in the front, it’s probably been 15 or 20 years. But I’m willing to try and see how it goes.” And when she sits in the front seat and buckles her seat belt, she feels thrilled.

“When Tammy actually realizes that she sat down in the chair and she’s good to go and the door can close, you can tell the little battle that she just beat made her feel wonderful,” pointed out Chris. Because “even at 16 she couldn’t sit in the front seat buckled up.”

And Tammy gushes, “Sitting in the front seat, It’s like a whole new world. You’re experiencing everything from a different point of view. Instead of being the second person to see stuff, you’re the first person.”
