TMZ reports that the contestants and crew were supposed to begin taping on Friday, March 13th, but because of the coronavirus outbreak, they will postpone production until further notice. This comes as a huge disappointment for fans of the hit reality dating show, as they were looking forward to seeing Clare Crawley’s season. However, a representative for Warner Bros. explained that they made the decision for everyone’s health and safety.
The statement said, “With the rapidly changing events related to COVID-19, and out of an abundance of caution, Warner Bros. Television Group is halting production on some of our 70+ series and pilots currently filming or about to begin. There have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on any of our productions, but the health and safety of our employees, casts, and crews remain our top priority. During this time, we will continue to follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control as well as local officials and public health professionals in each city where our productions are based.”
So far the ABC network has not made any comments as to when production will start up again. TMZ suggested that it might start as soon as Sunday while Reality Steve hinted that the season might be canceled altogether.
The Bachelorette was set to premiere on Monday, May 18th, but right now it’s unclear if that date will be pushed back. So far Warner Bros. has not made any additional comments while Clare Crawley herself has remained quiet about the reports.
With that said, it looks like it might be several weeks until Clare will begin handing out those all-important roses. We will definitely update you with all of the latest information as it comes in.
