‘American Idol’ Alum Arrested In Tulsa For CSAM

On Friday an American Idol contestant was arrested for alleged possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM.) More often these days, it seems that people end up behind bars for what amounts to exploiting minors for p0rn purposes. Josh Duggar from 19 Kids and Counting is just one of many. 

American Idol Judge Katy Perry Kissed The Accused

Katy Perry moved on from the talent show, but before she went, she kissed a man who now faces charges of CSAM with over 700 videos and images being found on his device. Admittedly, it was about six years ago now that she planted the kiss. At the time, TV Shows reminded readers, that Benjamin Glaze claimed that he’d never even kissed before. 

Probably, if the American Idol wannabe is found guilty, he will face many years in prison. Josh Duggar was sentenced to over 12 years in prison.  Another reality TV star who looks at many years behind bars if found guilty is 90 Day Fiance Season 1 star Mike Eloshway.

CSAM Arrest Announced On Facebook

The Tulsa Police Department announced that Benjamin Glaze was detained after information suggested a lot of images and videos of a graphic nature were on his phone. The investigation that started back in April led to his arrest ahead of the weekend. Additionally, the statement on Facebook said:

…the Spider Unit obtained a search warrant for Glaze’s residence. During the search, a smartphone was recovered that was found to contain over 700 images and videos of child sexual abuse material.

On 10/18/2024, an arrest warrant was issued for Benjamin Isaac Dewitt Glaze for Aggravated Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Glaze was located and arrested on the afternoon of 10/18/2024 by the Spider Unit and booked into the Tulsa County Jail for his warrant…

Notably, the statement didn’t mention that Benjamin Glaze had been a contestant on American Idol. But, fans of the talent show have long memories.

In the comments section of the Facebook post, a lot of people congratulated the police for the arrest. Some of those people who knew Benjamin Glaze from their hometown and American Idol also spoke out. here are some of their thoughts:

• What’s sad is, my son went to school with him. He was very well liked and musical. He made it through a few rounds of American idol. Just goes to show, things and people are not always how they seem / I feel for his family. 
• It’s really scary realizing you truly don’t know people… I sat next to this dude in so many of my classes in high school.
• And he’s already posted bond and back on the streets. Awesome! SMH!
• This is the man on American Idol that Katy Perry kissed.
